Actually free — here's the difference
Most "free invoice generators" are lead funnels: you fill everything in, then hit a wall — create an account to download, verify your email, or accept a watermark unless you upgrade. This one is a plain browser tool. The invoice you see is the invoice you print. Your client's details are saved only in your own browser's storage so the form is pre-filled next visit, and nothing is ever sent to a server.
Invoicing basics that get you paid faster
- Number every invoice sequentially (INV-001, INV-002…) — required for clean bookkeeping and tax records.
- Set explicit due dates, not "net 30" jargon. "Due July 18, 2026" gets paid faster.
- Put payment instructions on the invoice itself — bank details or payment link in the notes field. Every extra step a client must take delays payment.
- Invoice immediately on completion. Every week of delay measurably increases the chance of late payment.
- Quote the job right first — an accurate invoice starts with an accurate price; see our Job Quote & Markup Calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my logo?
This version is deliberately minimal for speed. Logo support is on the roadmap — for now, the clean typographic header keeps the invoice professional.
Does it work for hourly billing?
Yes — put the hours in Qty and your rate in Rate ("Deep clean — office floor 2", 6 × $45). If crews worked across sites, total their hours with the Multi-Job-Site Time Card Calculator first.
Which currencies are supported?
USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, KES, NGN and ZAR symbols are built in. The math is identical in any currency — the symbol is cosmetic, so pick the one your client pays in.
Is a printed PDF invoice legally valid?
In most jurisdictions an invoice needs no special format — it needs the right contents: seller, buyer, date, unique number, itemization and amounts. Some countries add requirements (e.g. tax registration numbers) — include them in the From block or Notes if applicable.
Disclaimer: Invoice content requirements (tax IDs, VAT lines, e-invoicing mandates) vary by country. Confirm what your jurisdiction requires; this tool provides formatting, not tax advice.
